Two top appointments to digital team
Dr Jack Barker has been appointed Chief Clinical Information Officer for south east London. This builds upon his current role at King’s College Hospital.
He will work closely with John-Jo Campbell, our new Chief Information Officer. John-Jo currently holds this role at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Lewisham Clinical Commissioning Group.
Both Jack and John-Jo have been influential in driving forward the sustainability and transformation partnership (STP) digital agenda.
Jack said: “I am deeply honoured to be appointed to this position. It builds on the work that I have been doing at King’s and working on the Local Care Record.
“There will be policy requirements to meet but I have a couple of top priorities.
“Firstly, linking up clinical information systems across the network so that we can have better, more informed, safer, conversations with patients.
“Secondly, we should exploit our vast pools of data and clinical IT systems to provide higher quality, safer and more efficient experiences for our patients and staff.
John-Jo added: “By working with colleagues across health and care we aim to use information and technology to help standardise care around best practice, improve communication between health and care organisations and enable citizens to become more directly involved in their care.”
We will also be seeking nominations for a GP IT lead to join the digital senior team.
